REGAIN YOUR FREEDOM TO MOVE

Functional movement is a type of training that is based on real-world situational bio-mechanics.
It tends to be multi-joint, multi-muscle exercises… so instead of moving only the elbows, for example, you move elbows, shoulders, spine, hips and knees.

CORRECTING POSTURE IN MOVEMENT

From birth we begin to develop dominant and weaker muscles, and throughout life due to lack of activity, injury or accidents we create poor muscles habits that negatively impact the body.

Functional movement corrects suboptimal muscle habits or “posture in movement” by determining weaker/dominant muscles and creating a training routine to balance them.

EXERCISE IS FOR EVERYONE

Exercise isn’t only to develop muscles. Good exercise stimulates the nervous system, improving our health. This can be the most simple of routines, as long as correct movement patterns are used.

Because FM training takes into account dominant and weaker muscles, it allows for anyone, no matter the age or physical condition, to reap the benefits of exercising.

BENEFITS OF FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT

  • Increase your range of motion
  • Exercise without the risk of injury
  • For those injured, exercise again without aggravating your injury
  • Correct and balance muscle habits
  • Increase flexibility
  • Build inner strength and endurance
  • Improve athletic performance

MODALITIES & SPECIALTIES USED

Our functional movement protocol uses an array of other modalities and specialties.
These are utilized based on each client’s custom needs.

Functional Movement Screen

FMS is our first line of attack when it comes to helping you achieve optimal pain-free movement patterns. These 7 specialized movements allow our FMS certified trainers to screen and assess your current level of movement capabilities, pinpointing weak and unbalanced muscular motor control.

Founder Gray Cook and his team have develop a powerful tool, that has attained immense praised among professional sports teams and physical therapy clinics.

Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT)

NeuroKinetic Therapy® corrective movement system is a sophisticated bodywork modality that can be used as both an assessment and rehabilitative technique for low back pain, neck pain, carpal tunnel, and other injuries.

The NKT ® corrective movement system protocol employs a system of precise muscle tests has the ability to change the programming of the Motor Control Center (MCC) in the cerebellum. After an injury, your motor control center adapts to a compensation pattern and holds that in its memory forever unless it is convinced to change. A good example is a whiplash accident in which the posterior neck muscles brace for the anterior neck muscles.
